Our Products Are Tobacco Safe WS Packaging Group considers itself to be a responsible producer of products used in direct contact with tobacco packaging. It is our goal to always meet or exceed the tobacco customer's packaging specifications and requirements. WS Packaging products are developed with specific materials that are free of all non-characteristic or offensive odors. Our labels, coupons, inserts, or onserts do not contain any ingredients that will transfer color, odor, or stain to the tobacco product. All WS Packaging tobacco industry products meet the FDA CFR 175.105 and FDA CFR 176.180 guidelines. WS Packaging's targets and tolerances for measured parameters of the individual product specifications are based on years of accumulated tobacco specifications. These products have been subjected to and have passed all of the following test phases in the material qualification processes for the tobacco industry. Test Phases:
Gas Chromatograph What is a gas chromatograph (GC)? It is an instrument for the analysis of organic chemical mixtures. In a laboratory setting, the various components are separated according to physical properties such as polarity and vapor pressure. The signals received are amplified and, with the help of a printer, printed onto a chromatogram. Each component of the sample, separated from the others by passage through the column, produces a separate peak in the detector output, which is graphed by a chart recorder. This testing procedure measures the odor detection of printed products. Gas chromatograph test results can be provided on each printed tobacco product order upon request. To view a GC test report, click here. All finished tobacco products are allowed to "air out" for 24 hours prior to packing, thus allowing all inks and varnish odors to dissipate. Printed materials are then packed in poly bags to eliminate contamination during shipment.
