The Canadian government requires consumer products to be labeled in both French and English. As a result, the bilingual copy for required information demands a large amount of space on the packaging.
Tender Corporation was packaging its Ben's® insect repellent product in Canada inside a paperboard backed blister pack. The company was looking for a solution that would eliminate the card but still meet governmental regulations and uphold the Ben's brand identity.
Solution
Tender Corporation discovered the ideal combination of flexibility and durability with WS Packaging Group's FlexVision® product, part of the MultiVision® label line. Its flexible film based construction engineered exclusively for plastic tubes and bottles, conforms to the product's curved surface and tolerates moisture, including chemicals with strong solvent properties like DEET. It can also be opened and closed numerous times without compromising its integrity and has a shelf life of at least two years.
By eliminating the paperboard card, more bottles of the Ben's product can be merchandised on the shelf in less space, making it appealing to both large retail chains and smaller specialty stores. In addition, developing a label that functions as the package reduces excess packaging components, providing an earth friendly outcome.
