The position will entail day-to-day support, maintenance, and enhancements of the Tivoli Storage Management (TSM) enterprise framework. The candidate will validate backup files, conduct testing in order to ensure integrity, review and communicate retention periods, and restore data as necessary. The candidate may lead or be a technical resource in Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity efforts. In addition, the position entails the leadership, support, and development of Mac Server technology enterprise-wide. The successful candidates will be able to set standards, implement and measure best practices, and develop administrative procedures for the purpose of developing a robust and reliable architecture. Travel 10% to 20% of the time will be included.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Candidates should have a minimum of five to ten years of experience in engineering and supporting TSM and Mac environments across multiple networked sites. Experience includes Mac OS 10 and versions beyond along with commensurate server hardware platforms. A strong command-line level of experience in automation techniques with recent Red Hat distributions is required in order to support the TSM architecture. The candidate should have a strong understanding of TSM version 5.X or better in a multi-node networked environment. Foundational knowledge of LAN/WAN networking protocols (especially DNS, SSH, TCP/IP) is a requirement. Knowledge of open source web frameworks is considered a ‘plus’, but not a requirement.

Strong deductive reasoning skills and the ability to apply root cause analysis will be invaluable. A command of both written and verbal skills is critical in engaging relevant stakeholders with varying goals and technical knowledge.
